Hi All,
The two students and I moved from our B&B to our superb hotel called Hotel Del Glaciar, just after lunch. It is the highest located hotel of Ushuaia and is not far from the Martial Glacier. We had to take a taxi and went up and up and up on nerver-ending bendy roads. The trip took about 20 minutes and I think it would take about 1 hour just to do that on foot!
We were met by Heather, the expedition coordinator, and a cameraman. We were to pick up our room cards, undo our luggage, and come back down to register with the 2041 team.
At the registration room, we were given several things: a name tag, a black windproof jacket with IAE 2012 (International Antarctic Expedition) embroidered on one side, a black bonnet with 2041 embroidered on the front, a black t-shirt, lip balm, a log book on Antarctica, and a camping hook.
The afternoon is free for all of us. Many arrived today so went to visit Ushuaia. I am too tired to walk back down there, plus I've seen most of what is to be visited. Instead I preferred to take a little nap.
I have met my roommate, called Audrey, who is also French. We are just relaxing until dinner time and I am taking advantage to update my blog.
Tomorrow is "meet and greet" with the whole team.
