Arrival at Melchoir Islands

We had several presentations today. I am feeling much better; a woman from Oman gave me an effective tablet against seasickness which is allowing me to eat again.<o:p></o:p>

Joost and Michael, two Dutch men, have shared their amazing experience with us where they have crossed both Americas, from the North of Alaska to Ushuaia, on their bikes! It took them 20 months to accomplish this unusual trip. Their project is called “Cycle for Water”. They visited many places to understand drinking water supplies of many populations. They arrived in Ushuaia around the 29^th of February, just in time to join our expedition.<o:p></o:p>

John Luck also gave us a few tips to take pictures. Former photographer for the Washington Post and the Washington Times, he has worked a lot during natural and human catastrophes. <o:p></o:p>

We had our first zodiac excursion today (I'm on the right of the picture). The night before, we all received our mandatory training on the wearing and use of life jackets. The person who drove our zodiac loves speed and as humpback whales were spotted ahead, she increased the speed to find them. I was not well because the zodiac was bouncing on the waves. I had to ask to go back to the ship. Thus all the zodiacs returned to the ship too…. How embarrassing!<o:p></o:p>

We were given another presentation on the upcoming camping we would do on an island. I was excited to be that night.  <o:p></o:p>

A newspaper journalist was on the trip and a part of the 2041 team. He took the opportunity to make a short presentation on the way we should tell our story when we were back at home. The presentation was too short, I yearned for more information.<o:p></o:p>
