Hi All,
I gave my first presentation to a school on Thursday 24th of May. It was in front of roughly 30 children of about 10 years old. I brought some webbing, rope, and karabiners to give a bit of animation, as one IAE 2012 participant advised me to do. It went very well. Instead of spending an hour, I spent two and half! The kids were amazing and they were asking loads of questions every 2 minutes! When I asked them what they wanted to implement in their school that would help protect the environment, unanimously, the fact of stopping smokers from throwing their cigarette butts on the ground in front of the school, and around! I told them to work with their headmistress and provide solutions (not sanctions, which most of them wanted to implement).
After the presentation, some of them started sticking sheets of paper on the walls surrounding their playground to incite other classes to throw their litter in the dustbins and not on the ground; or promoting 2041.
So thumbs up for this presentation!
